What we do with your data.
Short version: this site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it loads nothing from anybody else. No cookie reaches your browser unless you press the button that opens our booking calendar. We hold your details only when you write to us or book a consultation, and only for as long as that conversation is alive.

Who we are.
Enevate Engineering is the data controller for this website and for anything you send us through it. In the language of the GDPR, that means we are the ones who decide what happens to your data, and we are the ones you hold responsible for it.

Only what you hand us.
We do not collect personal data in the background. There is no analytics package on this site, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no mailing list and no customer relationship system. Nothing here builds a profile of you.
We hold personal data in exactly two situations, and in both of them you typed it in yourself:
You write to us. The contact form on our contact page does not submit anything to a server. It opens a pre-filled message in your own email program, and nothing leaves your machine until you press send. What we then hold is an ordinary email: your name, your company if you gave one, your email address, and whatever you wrote about your problem. It sits in our mailbox like any other correspondence.
You book a consultation. Booking runs on a Google Calendar appointment schedule embedded in the contact page. The name, email address and answers you give in that form go to Google and into our calendar, so that the engineer you are meeting knows who is coming and what about. We do not copy that information anywhere else. There is no separate booking database, no CRM, and no export.
We use all of it for one purpose: to answer you and to hold the meeting. We do not use it for marketing, we do not send unsolicited email, and we do not sell or pass it to anyone.
None, until you ask for one.
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep, so that something can be remembered between pages or between visits. This site sets none of its own and stores nothing in your browser. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to put in one: nothing is placed on your device unless you press a button asking for it.
Nothing on these pages is loaded from anybody else, either. The two typefaces are served from this domain rather than from Google's, so reading the site tells Google nothing: not your IP address, not which browser you use, not that you were here at all. There is one exception, and it waits to be asked:
The Google Calendar booking widget, on the contact page, and only after you press Open the booking calendar. Until you press it that button is ours and nothing has gone to Google. Pressing it fetches the widget's files from Google (its script and stylesheet, and the typefaces and icons Google's own widget asks for), and they set Google's NID cookie on the google.com domain with an expiry around eighteen months out; it is one of the cookies Google uses to personalise advertising. The calendar then opens in a frame served by Google, in Google's name and under Google's terms. What Google does with it is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We do not record that you pressed it. No preference is stored, which also means there is nothing to withdraw. The next page you open starts from nothing again. If you would rather not press it at all, write to the address below and we will find a time by email; you lose the calendar view and nothing else.
Until the reason is gone.
We keep what you sent us for as long as the enquiry, the project or the agreement it belongs to is alive, and then we delete it. An enquiry that goes nowhere does not sit in our mailbox for years.
The exception is anything we are required to keep: invoices and the records behind them, which Dutch tax law obliges us to retain for seven years, and anything we need to hold on to for a legal claim. We keep those and nothing more.
Ask, and it is yours.
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or object to our holding it at all. Write to engineering@kitepower.nl and we will deal with it within a month. There is no form and no charge.
If you think we have handled your data badly and we have not put it right, you are entitled to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. We would rather you came to us first, but that route is yours and we will not stand in the way of it.
If this page changes.
If we start using something that collects data, such as analytics, a form that posts to a server or a scheduler of our own, this page gets updated before it goes live, and the date at the top changes with it. If you want to know what we were saying on an earlier date, ask.
